eTwinning Έργο "Little Time Travelers"


Το σχολείο μας ανήκει στα επωφελούμενα σχολεία της Δράσης eTwinning STEM 2.0 και θα παραλάβει σύντομα εξοπλισμό Lego WeDo 2.0 Advanced. Στο πλαίσιο αυτό εγγράψαμε στο TwinSpace ένα έργο που συνδυάζει την Εκπαιδευτική Ρομποτική και την προσέγγιση STEM. Ο τίτλος του είναι “LittleTimeTravelers” και σύντομα θα ξεκινήσουμε ένα συναρπαστικό ταξίδι μέσα στο χρόνο!

Σχετικά με το έργο

"Little Time Travelers" is a group of children from different countries who discover a Time Machine and embark on a journey through time. The adventure starts from the present and moves through time in a random and exciting way. Past, present and future are involved in a game of learning and discovery. In order to find each destination (place and time), Little Time Travelers will have to go through a series of challenges and follow the signs they will find on their way. As they travel through time, students will be encouraged to explore the world of science and technology inventions, acquire computational thinking and STEM skills, solve problems, enhance their imagination and creativity, discover and study different historical eras, practice ICT as well as their English abilities, learn to work as a team, make friends and learn with fun.

Στόχοι

  1. Encouraging students to explore the world.
  2. Developing students’ knowledge about various historical eras.
  3. Helping students to discover important science and technology inventers and inventions.
  4. Encouraging students to get involved with STEM approach.
  5. Enhancing students to use Educational Robotics e.g. Lego WeDo and BeeBot.
  6. Cultivating students' knowledge and skills in Web 2.0 tools, Augmented Reality and Programming.
  7. Supporting students to develop computational thinking and to learn by doing.
  8. Encouraging students to ask questions, solve step-by-step problems, use models, design prototypes, investigate, analyze, and interpret data, evaluate results and cooperate.
  9. Enhancing students creative writing skills.
  10. Exercising students' ICT's and English knowledge and skills.
  11. Cooperating with other students from different countries and making friends.
  12. Learning students about the happiness of creating and sharing.

Διαδικασία της εργασίας

Project duration: January 2020 – June 2020
For each destination a series of activities will be done:
  • Deciding about the place and the time.
  • Preparing challenges by using Web 2.0 tools.
  • Solving challenges and finding out the destination.
  • Learning about the historical era, famous inventers and their inventions.
  • Choosing a representative invention, constructing and programming a robotic model.
  • Creating a common studio on Scratch (https://scratch.mit.edu).
  • Presenting the robotic model for the common e-book.
  • Adding information about the historical era on the common timeline.
  • Adding information about the destination on the common map.
  • Writing about their adventures on the common e-diary.

Αναμενόμενα Αποτελέσματα

The expected results for students are:
  • Learning about historical eras, inventors, inventions, etc.
  • Awareness of STEM approach.
  • Familiarity with Educational Robotics, Programming in Scratch and Computational Thinking.
  • Learning by doing.
  • Enhancing of creative writing skills.
  • Improvement of ICT’s and English knowledge and skills.
  • Sharing of information and results.
  • Openness to students from different countries.
  • Collaboration with other schools.
In the end of the project, the students will collaboratively create:
  • a timetable with all the eras they traveled on,
  • a map with all the places they visited in,
  • an e-book with inventors and their inventions they learned about,
  • and an e-diary describing their adventures.
